The pricing and what is included is cheaper than what you'll pay with the cruise lines and they'll take good care of you. Overall, don't hesitate to book this if you're visiting Costa Maya on your cruise. We were able to buy additional snacks (fresh pineapple and mango) on the excursion. We brought water bottles but they gave us plenty of cold water. Keep in mind this is a lot of walking, climbing, and swimming so it's moderately strenuous. Lunch was delicious and the swim in the lagoon was fun and refreshing. The tour at the ruins was very thorough and he kept the kids engaged. We could tell how much he loved his homeland and the history of the area when he was sharing all kinds of info with us.
The drive to the Mayan ruins was comfortable and the guide was engaging and informative. The tour was perfect for our fam of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a 8 year old). We were immediately comfortable as soon as we met the team. There was no reason to be nervous bc the tour company does this for a living ) Communication was great, we were able to email them ahead of time and confirm port time, etc.
We did a bunch of research on Trip Advisor and Google and took a chance booking ahead of time. We were nervous booking a non-Royal Caribbean excursion and if it would be safe/timely etc.
